Architecture & Interiors: Dialog

Purchases, commissions and four national Calls to Artists formed this collection of 747 artworks. Eighty-five artists are represented in the collection coming from the hospital’s catchment area of Alberta, BC, Saskatchewan and the NWT.

The criteria guiding artwork selection included:

• Artwork that delights, surprises and moves us;
• Images that speak to the experiences and understandings of the patients the RAH serves;
• Images that calm the spirit, that celebrate beauty and joy – elements of whimsy and humour; and
• Compositions that compliment the aesthetic feel of the building.
