Twenty-eight artists are represented in AIMCo’s collection of 40 artworks. AIMCo’s rationale for collecting art was to provide artwork that reflects sophistication, success and innovation. Like other corporate collectors, AIMCO also sought to invest in the local – invest in the Edmonton and Alberta arts community, and to celebrate the wealth of talented artists in our province and elsewhere, inviting the ‘handmade’, the beautiful, and even provocative artworks that artists are producing today. AIMCO desired to offer their clients & staff surroundings that are aesthetically well-designed, pleasing, and have value – communicating that the way a work space appears is important for productivity and success. A picture is worth a thousand words… the thoughtful selection and placement of art will do this for any business or organization wanting to communicate these qualities.
